Cookie Policy
A short list of cookies this site uses — and exactly what each one does.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. Cookies let sites remember things between visits — your preferences, your session, or anonymised analytics data.
They are not programs and cannot carry viruses. Most are harmless and many are essential for a site to function properly.
Which cookies does this site use?
This site uses a minimal set of cookies. I don't run advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or social tracking scripts. The table below lists every cookie currently in use.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Anonymised analytics — tracks page visits and session data to help me understand what content is useful. | 2 years | Analytics |
| theme | This site | Remembers your dark/light mode preference so the site looks right on your next visit. | Persistent | Functional |
| calendly_* | Calendly | Set when you visit the scheduling widget to enable booking functionality. | Session | Functional |
A note on analytics
I use Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. This means Google never receives your full IP address. The data I see is aggregate — page views, session counts, referral sources — not individual user profiles.
I don't use remarketing features, demographic tracking, or audience building in GA.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Each browser has a different interface — search for "manage cookies" plus your browser name for instructions.
You can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Blocking functional cookies (like theme) may affect your experience. Blocking analytics cookies has no impact on site functionality.
Changes to this policy
If I add new cookies or change how existing ones work, I'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
