When refunds apply, what's outside scope, and how to raise one.
The nature of SEO services
SEO is a professional service — like legal advice or accounting. Once delivered, the work product (strategy documents, technical fixes, content briefs, reports) cannot be "returned."
My refund policy is therefore focused on whether the work was delivered as agreed, not on whether it produced the business outcomes you hoped for.
I stand behind the quality of my work. If something wasn't delivered correctly, I will fix it or refund it.
When refunds apply
- ✓The audit or strategy deliverable was not delivered within the agreed timeframe and no revised timeline was agreed.
- ✓The deliverable was materially different from what was scoped in writing at the start of the engagement.
- ✓Work was paid for in advance and I cancelled the engagement before completing it.
- ✓A technical error resulted in a duplicate payment.
When refunds don't apply
- ✗The SEO work didn't produce the rankings or traffic results you hoped for. SEO outcomes are never guaranteed — I guarantee the quality and delivery of the work, not the results.
- ✗You changed your business direction, budget, or priorities after work commenced.
- ✗The work was completed and delivered as agreed, but you later decided not to use it.
- ✗Monthly retainer fees already invoiced and worked against (retainers are worked in advance and cannot be reversed for the period already covered).
- ✗Third-party costs (tools, software subscriptions, ad spend) arranged on your behalf.
How to request a refund
Email hello@abdullahmekky.me with the subject line "Refund request — [invoice number]".
Include a brief description of why you believe a refund applies, with reference to the original scope document.
I will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and provide a decision within 7 business days.
If a refund is approved, it will be issued via the same payment method used for the original transaction within 14 days.
Partial refunds
In cases where work was partially completed at the point of cancellation, a partial refund proportional to the incomplete work may be offered at my discretion.
Partial refunds are calculated based on the documented scope and progress at the time of the cancellation request.
