How invoicing works
- —For ongoing retainer engagements, invoices are issued on the 1st of each calendar month, covering the month ahead. Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date.
- —For one-off projects (e.g. a standalone audit), a 50% deposit is required before work begins. The remaining 50% is invoiced on delivery.
- —Invoices are sent by email as PDF documents and include a payment link for convenience.
Accepted payment methods
- —Bank transfer (IBAN provided on invoice) — preferred for ongoing retainers.
- —Stripe card payment (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) — available for one-off projects and first retainer payments.
- —PayPal — available on request for international clients.
- —I do not accept cryptocurrency payments.
Late payments
- —If payment is not received within 7 days of the due date, I will send one reminder.
- —If payment is still outstanding after 14 days, work on the engagement will be paused until the account is settled. No deliverables or updates will be issued during this period.
- —Accounts outstanding beyond 30 days may be subject to a late payment fee of 5% of the invoice value per additional 30-day period, and may be referred to a debt recovery service.
- —I prefer to resolve payment issues by conversation — if you're facing a genuine difficulty, please contact me before the due date and we'll find a solution.
Taxes and VAT
- —My services are currently invoiced without VAT. If your business requires a specific tax treatment or documentation, let me know ahead of the first invoice.
- —International clients are responsible for any applicable import taxes, withholding taxes, or duties in their own jurisdiction.
Changes to scope and pricing
- —If the scope of an engagement expands materially beyond what was agreed, I'll notify you before continuing and provide a revised estimate.
- —Retainer pricing is reviewed annually. I'll give at least 60 days' notice of any price changes, which take effect from the next renewal period.
"If you have a question about an invoice before it's overdue, I'll always resolve it quickly. The worst thing is a surprise — on either side."
